“Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever it remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything.”
My name is
Wife, Mom, Office Manager, and Photographer!
Melissa Andrews
I was born and raised in the NEPA area and I’m proud to call it my home. I was always known to be the one snapping pictures at family get togethers and events. I loved capturing the memories and being able to look back at pictures and remember the moments and how I felt.
I started out my photography journey on digital point and shoot cameras. I happily remember our family having a camera and spending so much time taking pictures of everything, myself, our family pets, and nature. Not much of my photography interests have changed, but I did upgrade my camera and skills a lot since those days.
I got an older model DSLR camera second hand thanks to someone upgrading their set up and I loved using it on auto mode. I was able to better capture the moments that were important to me.
I spent countless hours taking pictures of my nieces and nephews, capturing memories that I still cherish to this day.
After that I decided to get serious about photography and learn what my camera could do. Although I’ve been passionate about photography for as long as I can remember, this was my first step toward becoming a professional.
I’ve dedicated countless hours and invested in upgrading my gear to capture images that align with my vision.
In 2022, I officially launched my business by registering as an LLC, marking the beginning of my professional journey. I also obtained liability insurance to ensure the protection of both my clients and my equipment.
Each step has helped me grow both as an artist and a business owner, and I’m excited for the opportunities that lie ahead as I continue to evolve in the field.
I’ve dedicated a significant amount of time to working with my equipment and refining my photography skills.
My formal education includes completing the Basic DSLR Photography course at LCCC in April 2022, followed by a full semester Digital Photography course at Keystone College in the Spring of 2023. These courses provided a solid foundation and helped me deepen my understanding of photography techniques.
In June 2024, I traveled to Boston to attend the FlashGear.net Off Camera Flash seminar, where I gained hands-on experience learning from skilled photographers on how to effectively use off-camera flash in both indoor and outdoor settings. This experience expanded my technical knowledge and gave me new tools to enhance my work.
Currently, I am pursuing my Certified Professional Photographer (CPP) certification, aiming to further validate my skills and demonstrate my expertise. Additionally, I have joined the Professional Photographers of America (PPA) and the Pennsylvania chapter to connect with fellow photographers, attend industry conferences, and stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in the field.
As a photographer, I'm privileged to witness and preserve moments that make life beautiful. I believe that every photo has the power to evoke emotions and transport us back to cherished moments.
Specializing in portrait photography, I thrive on capturing the genuine emotions, fleeting glances, and subtle nuances that define the human experience.
Whether it's a heartfelt family portrait, a breathtaking landscape, or a vibrant event, I approach each session with creativity, professionalism, and a deep reverence for the art of storytelling.
